Ulster Head Coach Matt Williams:
“This is a great scheme for kids to get involved in. Rugby provides so much enjoyment for so many
people and these camps are a great way to develop as a young player and learn from the Ulster Rugby
players about how to improve, but most importantly of all it is brilliant fun!!”

Ulster Captain, Rory Best:
“The Summer Scrummage camps are a great way to
meet new friends, learn new rugby skills and meet
your rugby heroes in a fun and safe environment.
I know that I really enjoy going along to the camps,
as do the other players.
It is always brilliant to see the kids enjoying
the camps and hopefully we will
see lots of new faces this
summer.”
Camp Content
The Ulster Rugby Summer Camps will be
professionally supervised by IRFU accredited
coaches, all of whom will have been vetted by
Access Northern Ireland and/or the Garda.
All Ulster Rugby Summer Camps will be visited by
at least one member of the current Ulster Rugby
Squad during the week, to pose for photos and sign
autographs.*
All activities are child centred, taking into
consideration the capacities and needs of the young
player as identifi ed in the IRFU’s Long Term Player
Development pathway.
The content of the camps will be skills based and
delivered on a national template designed by the
IRFU. Coaches will encourage the development
of the players through active guidance, with the
children learning predominately through playing
and fun activities.
Please note that the amount of contact will be
limited due to the mixed ability of the children
involved and the hardness of the pitches over the
summer.
